Today the kids and staff of Hagar celebrated Mimouna, a Moroccan Jewish festival held immediately after Passover. Muslims would bring their Jewish neighbors gifts of flour, honey, milk and butter for them to begin preparing leavened foods again after Passover, and Jews invited the Muslims in to share the food and festivities. Our students celebrated with music, dance and traditional foods like Mofletta, a sweet crepe. This celebration is the perfect embodiment of our shared society values.
